Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. \u2013 FOTON, a commercial vehicle manufacturer present in more than 100 countries, celebrates its 30th global anniversary this year under the slogan \u201c30 Years of Grit to Great\u201d, in a context marked by international growth, expansion of new energy solutions, and a new operational stage in the Dominican Republic in partnership with Autom\u00eda.<\/p>\n
Founded in 1996, the company has accumulated more than 12 million vehicles in operation worldwide and remains the largest exporter of commercial vehicles from China for 15 consecutive years. The commemoration of its three decades also comes at a time of transformation for the company, driven by new technologies, electrification, and greater integration of international operations.<\/p>\n
In the Dominican Republic, the anniversary coincides with a new chapter for the brand. Although FOTON has had more than a decade of presence in the local market, in 2025 Autom\u00eda acquired exclusive distribution rights, incorporating a service structure, technical support, and commercial operations focused on strengthening the customer experience in the transport, construction, and corporate fleet sectors.<\/p>\n

FOTON\u2019s technical partnerships with companies such as Cummins, Daimler, and ZF are part of its industrial development model, aimed at integrating global standards and adapting transport solutions to different markets.<\/p>\n
During the 2016\u20132025 period, the company also increased its commitment to new energy vehicles and localized operations. In 2025 alone, sales in this segment reached 101,200 units, representing year-on-year growth of 87.21%, while the company reported 32 KD plants outside its home market for assembly and regional adaptation operations.<\/p>\n

FOTON reported revenues of 61.247 billion Chinese yuan (CNY), equivalent to year-on-year growth of 28.41%. Profits reached 1.361 billion CNY, an increase of 2,095.07% compared to the previous period.<\/p>\n
In operational terms, the company sold more than 650,000 commercial vehicles in 2025, with year-on-year growth of 5.85%, maintaining its position among the global leaders in the sector and occupying leading roles in exports and sales volume within its category.<\/p>\n
As part of its long-term outlook, the company also presented its GREEN 3030 strategy, under which it expects to reach one million vehicles sold annually by 2030, with a portfolio in which 50% will correspond to new energy solutions and greater international integration of its operations.<\/p>\n
In the Dominican Republic, this new stage of FOTON is being developed through Autom\u00eda, a company belonging to Grupo Octagon, a Dominican business conglomerate with experience since 1992 in mobility and international brand distribution.<\/p>\n
The local operation integrates sales, technical support, and after-sales service from its showroom located at Avenida Los Pr\u00f3ceres No. 41, Los Jardines, Santo Domingo, where the company serves the commercial vehicle segment in the country.<\/p>\n
As part of its operational structure, Autom\u00eda is planning the opening of a second Experience Center in Autumn 2026 on Autopista Duarte Km. 10, which will include corporate offices, a workshop for both brands, showrooms, and a parts warehouse, with the aim of expanding its nationwide service and support capacity.<\/p>\n
