The Skoda Kodiaq is awaiting a facelift, and the Czech brand has offered an early look at the updated model ahead of a global reveal on April 13.<\/p>\n
Skoda aims to have the updated Kodiaq range in showrooms by the end of 2021, although an exact date is yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n
On another note, reports seem to confirm that the twin-turbo diesel engine of the Kodiaq RS was definitively discontinued at the end of 2020. Instead, the Kodiaq RS will use the 2.0-liter gasoline turbo with 180 kW\/370 Nm from the Octavia RS and Volkswagen Golf GTI.<\/p>\n
The current diesel-powered Kodiaq RS can accelerate from 0 to 100 km\/h in 7.0 seconds, while the Octavia RS wagon achieves figures of 6.7 seconds, though it has a weight advantage of 350 kg over the current Kodiaq RS.<\/p>\n
According to a preview of the sketches, the new Skoda Kodiaq will have a revised front with slimmer headlights, a more upright grille (taken from the new Octavia), and a redesigned front bumper with a wider intake and L-shaped elements.<\/p>\n
At the rear, the LED taillights have also been slimmed down and retain the characteristic crystalline design elements of the company.<\/p>\n
Skoda has remained silent about the rest of the updates, although it has indicated that “technological improvements” will be included as part of the update, likely related to enhanced driver assistance and information and entertainment technologies.<\/p>\n
One of these is likely to be Matrix LED headlights in addition to VW Group’s latest MIB3 infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.<\/p>\n
An improved driver technology package is also expected, with proper capabilities for semi-autonomous highway driving.<\/p>\n
