Comedian Kevin Hart is a fan of modified vehicles, and this week we discovered how much he’s willing to pay to indulge that passion.<\/p>\n
At the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, late last month, Hart walked away with a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Restomod, shelling out $825,000 for the privilege. The auction house confirmed Hart as the buyer in a separate Facebook post.<\/p>\n
The listing describes the car as a Pro Touring version, indicating a long list of modern upgrades to enhance overall performance.<\/p>\n
Under the hood is a 6.2-liter LT1 V-8 from a C7 Corvette Stingray, generating 460 hp. The engine drives the rear wheels through a 4-speed 4L75E automatic transmission.<\/p>\n
The front independent suspension is an Art Morrison C7 with Strange coilovers and fully adjustable ride height, mounted on a powder-coated frame in Cadillac Grey. Braking power comes from Wilwood brakes with 6-piston C7 front calipers, 14-inch rotors, and stainless steel brake lines.<\/p>\n
The Corvette rides on custom EVOD wheels with a retro look, continuing with Nitto white-wall tires.<\/p>\n
The body is entirely original, but the paint certainly is not. The Corvette currently sports PPG Franny Green paint, with a chocolate brown convertible top. The underside of the car was coated with a layer of black ceramic.<\/p>\n
The interior features Dakota Digital gauges, LED lighting, and a modern audio system designed to resemble a 1959 Wonder Bar system but with subwoofers and Bluetooth connectivity.<\/p>\n
This Corvette won’t be the only Restomod in Hart’s garage. He recently received a 1970 Dodge Charger from Wisconsin’s SpeedKore Performance Group.
