Audi has introduced a series of updates to its model lineup, just in time for the 2022 plate change. With the exception of the recently launched Q4 e-tron, e-tron GT, and the A8 sedan, all models in the brand receive some cosmetic tweaks and technological updates.
Amazon Alexa is now compatible with all Audi models, except for the Q2, TT, and R8. The update adds a range of new voice commands, grants access to Amazon music and audiobooks, and allows owners to control smart home functions such as lighting and door locks.
Audi has also introduced a new Sonos stereo in the A1, Q2, and Q3, replacing the Bang & Olufsen system in the top-tier Vorsprung model or if the optional sound and comfort package is specified. Additionally, the A3, A4, A5, A6, and A7 Sportback models get a new sustainable Dinamica upholstery inside, made from recycled plastic bottles.
Audi has modified its equipment level structure, removing the limited-run Edition 1 specification from the A5 in favor of its Black Edition trim. The A7 also gets a new specification between the entry-level Sport model and the mid-range S line variant, called Sport Edition.
It is available with all non-RS engines from the brand, as well as with the PHEV 50 TFSI e powertrain. Standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, tinted windows, and glossy black replacements for the bumper trim, grille surround, bright details, and mirror caps.
Vorsprung and Black Edition cars also feature new black Audi four-ring badges and model designation plates to complement the standard black exterior finish.
A1 Sportback
In addition to the new Sonos stereo, buyers now also get lane assist in the flagship Vorsprung variant, which can monitor blind-spot traffic up to 70 meters behind the vehicle.
A3 Sportback and Sedan
Vorsprung models feature black badges and a cool black grille frame, while the Edition 1 variant introduces new sports seats upholstered in a blend of synthetic leather and Dinamica microfiber.
A4 Sedan, Avant, and Allroad
All three cars now have wireless support for Android Auto, as well as for Apple CarPlay. RS 4 Avant buyers can also opt for a head-up display as a standalone option, projecting navigation instructions and driver assistance information. The Audi A4 and S4 models have new 19-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels.
A5 Sportback, Coupe, and Cabriolet
The A5 also features wireless Android Auto connectivity and an optional head-up display for the RS model, along with new 20-inch alloy wheels. Buyers can also specify a wind deflector in the Cabriolet as an optional extra.
A6 Sedan and Avant
Audi updates are extensive here. The previously optional Technology Pack is now standard across the range, including a digital instrument cluster, a wireless smartphone charger, and an enhanced navigation system for all models. Vorsprung models also have a heated steering wheel as standard, while S line and Black Edition cars receive some new sports seats. Black Edition cars can be equipped with new 20-inch alloy wheels, and there’s a new Ultra Blue metallic paint finish for S and RS models.
A7 Sportback
Along with the new Sport Edition finish, there’s a choice of four new metallic paint finishes. S7 and RS 7 variants also benefit from Audi’s Virtual Cockpit Plus, featuring dedicated displays for the instrument cluster when the cars are in Dynamic or Sport modes.
Q2
A Sonos sound system comes as standard on the Vorsprung model, or can be had as an optional extra as part of the Comfort and Sound Pack. Vorsprung and Black Edition cars also receive new black badges.
Q3 and Q3 Sportback
In addition to all the technological updates, the Q3 TFSI e plug-in hybrid is now available to order, with prices starting from £37,810. Vorsprung models also lose their Alcantara upholstery in favor of a synthetic leather alternative.
Q5 and Q5 Sportback
Amazon Alexa and wireless Android Auto now come as standard, while S line and above trims feature new sports seats with Dinamica microfiber upholstery.
Q7 and Q8
The only major update on the technological front is a new Mythos Black paint finish. It can be specified as an optional extra.
e-tron and e-tron Sportback
Both cars are now optionally available with a 22 kW onboard charger to replace the standard 11 kW unit. The e-tron S can also be had in the flagship Vorsprung specification.
TT and R8
The TT Vorsprung receives a new black badge, while the R8 has Nappa leather upholstery instead of Alcantara in the previous model. The sports car also features an electrically adjustable and pneumatic seat.
