Both the sedan and wagon variants of the Ford Mondeo will be replaced by a single model that combines elements of both versions, often referred to as a ‘crossover’: the new Ford Evos set to debut in 2022.
Unlike the upcoming Ford Kuga (which may be based on Volkswagen’s MEB electric platform), the Evos will also offer conventional engines initially. We’re talking about options with turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines with three and four cylinders, possibly with optional all-wheel drive. Partial electrification with mild hybrids and plug-in units is almost inevitable, and there could be at least one all-electric version.
The new Ford crossover is expected to be launched in 2022.
