Ford Mustang has been the best-selling sports car in the world for many years. The current version offers two variants to cater to all types of customers, although this is set to change as the decision has been made to discontinue the sale of the 4-cylinder version, maintaining only the V8 5.0-liter engine present in the Mustang GT and the new Mustang Mach1.

This news comes as a surprise following the introduction of the 2.3 EcoBoost four-cylinder engine in 2014.

The performance differences between both models were more than significant: The Mustang with a 2.3 EcoBoost four-cylinder engine producing 290 horsepower can reach a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, with a maximum peak of 233 km/h. On the other hand, a GT equipped with a V8 5.0 Coyote engine can deliver up to 460 horsepower in the Mach1, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, reaching 249 km/h. Additionally, the latter can choose between two transmissions: a six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic.
