
The Government of the Dominican Republic has announced a assistance program for owners of vehicles affected by recent heavy rains. Here are the steps to follow to receive this aid:
- Submit the requested documentation either through the institutional website www.superseguros.gob.do or in person at the User Service Center.
- Fill out a form with the details of the claimant, vehicle driver, affected vehicle, and a description of the incident.
- Attach the following documents:
- Copy of identification document (ID card or passport)
- Copy of the vehicle ownership certificate (registration)
- Original and copy of the current tax disc as of the date of the incident
- Copy of the insurance policy contract
- Coverage letter
- Images of the incident
- Initial claim for indemnity and/or damages
- The assistance will apply only to vehicles with insurance contracted prior to the date 11/04/2022 and whose damages were caused by the mentioned floods.
- To ensure the transparency of the program, there will be a team of reviewers to confirm the authenticity and legitimacy of the claims.
Remember that this assistance will be granted to individuals with compulsory insurance policies (mandatory insurance) and to insured parties with coverage for own damages (full coverage) that did not include coverage for natural phenomena.
