Jaguar recently unveiled its future plans. One of the projects of the British manufacturer (now part of Tata Motors) is to transform Jaguar into a 100% electric brand by 2025.
Currently, Jaguar’s vehicle lineup includes only one electric model, the I-Pace, recently updated to enhance its competitiveness in the market. The next step is to launch newly developed vehicles built on an exclusive platform for electric vehicles. Consequently, projects like a replacement for the Jaguar XJ may not come to fruition.
The brand promises to offer a range of up to six purely electric models, with the first one ready by 2024 and the rest to follow before the end of the decade.
Jaguar Land Rover emphasizes the importance of hydrogen and its intention to develop fuel cell technology for application in its vehicles by 2025. With all these changes, they aim to become a carbon-neutral manufacturer by the year 2039.
To achieve this goal, the company will invest approximately £2.5 billion in the development of new technologies.
