Jaguar E-Type

The Jaguar E-Type, often considered one of the most beautiful cars in history, is an icon in automotive history. However, some owners seek to update it, particularly in terms of mechanics and chassis. Kent-based specialists E-Type UK will produce custom-restored E-Type models with modern performance and equipment for their clients.

While the E-Type retains its unmistakable original contours, the company has made minimal cosmetic adjustments to the design. The vehicle features a tuned V12 engine, an improved chassis, and modern equipment and features designed to make the E-Type more suitable for daily use. Each car takes 4,000 hours to complete.

It comes with a new set of LED headlights instead of the old halogen units, and slightly larger 16-inch wire wheels. There’s also a subtly redesigned radiator grille and a new wraparound chrome bumper.

The interior has also been revamped with various comforts such as custom heated leather seats, piano black dashboard trims, and new LED-backlit gauges. It also includes a modern stereo, air conditioning, and, although it’s unlikely the car will be out on a cold winter morning, a heated front windshield.

The engine is based on the same V12 unit found in the original car but has been extensively modified to improve both performance and reliability. As a result of the upgrades, power has increased from 272 hp to 400 hp.

The E-Type has increased the engine capacity from 5.3 liters to 6.1 liters. The company has also installed a new 12-branch ceramic-coated stainless steel exhaust manifold and a new electronic fuel injection system to replace the standard quad carburetors.

Additionally, E-Type has installed a freer-flowing aluminum radiator, a new oil cooler, and ECU-controlled cooling fans. Transmission improvements include a new lightweight flywheel and a new five-speed manual gearbox.

To cope with the additional power, E-Type engineers have overhauled the car’s chassis, fitting new springs, new stabilizer bars, and fully adjustable dampers, allowing the car to be configured for comfortable cruising or spirited driving. There are also some modern ventilated brake discs and four-piston calipers.
