Today, Ferrari unveiled a new convertible supercar, the Ferrari SF90 Spider. This is Ferrari’s first hybrid car with a foldable hardtop, capable of generating 1,000 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, and reaching a top speed of 340 km/h.

The new Ferrari SF90 Spider is an open-top variant of the SF90 Stradale. It mirrors the structure and performance of its coupe sibling in accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h, a feat achieved in 2.5 seconds, just a tad slower (if the adjective can be used to qualify a car that can complete this operation in 7 seconds).

Mechanically, it features a 780 hp turbo V8 engine combined with three electric motors—one on the front axle and two on the rear. This configuration allows it to develop 1,000 hp, which can be managed in various ways through the eDrive, Hybrid, Performance, and Quality modes selected via the eManettino. The transmission is an 8-speed sequential automatic transmission.

With the new eSSC (electronic Side Slip Control), the vehicle’s dynamics can be analyzed in real-time to distribute forces to the electric motors on the front axle when necessary. Subsequently, these forces are distributed between the wheels on both sides to ensure optimal traction.
