On Tuesday, General Motors made a significant announcement, revealing that the highly anticipated Escalade IQ 2025, an electric SUV, will be unveiled in New York City on August 9th. As part of the announcement, a glimpse of the SUV’s distinctive front lighting signature was showcased.

Design Elements:

The electric Escalade shares some design elements with its gasoline counterpart. Notably, the front features vertical LED daytime running lights in tube-like formations, complemented by vertical LED headlights. Horizontal LED turn signals seamlessly integrate with the front edge of the hood line. The front grille adopts a plastic panel design reminiscent of the crossover Lyriq and flagship Celestiq, but with its unique LED lighting signature.

Wheel Design and Teaser:

A teaser video released on Cadillac’s YouTube channel accompanying the announcement offered a sneak peek at the electric Escalade’s wheel design. Spy photos have previously unveiled 24-inch wheels reminiscent of the 23-inch Celestiq wheels.

Interior Innovation:

A brief overhead shot of the dashboard through the panoramic roof reveals an expansive screen atop the dashboard. While both the Cadillac XT4 and the Lyriq 2024 feature a 33.0-inch OLED 9K display, it remains uncertain whether the Escalade IQ will share this screen or opt for the larger 55.0-inch screen seen in the Celestiq.

Shared Platform and Powertrain:

The electric Escalade will share its platform and Ultium powertrain with the Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Hummer EV, and GMC Sierra EV. This shared foundation hints at the potential for a battery pack reaching 200 kWh, providing a range of up to 400 miles or more, and boasting a power output of 1,000 hp or more with up to three electric motors.

Production and Timeline:

Scheduled to be one of three new electric Cadillacs unveiled in 2023, the Escalade IQ, along with its electric counterparts, is set to begin production in 2024. Manufacturing of the electric Escalade will take place in Detroit.

Conclusion:

The introduction of the Escalade IQ 2025 signifies General Motors’ commitment to advancing the electric vehicle landscape. With a blend of distinctive design elements, cutting-edge technology, and a powerful shared platform, the electric Escalade is poised to make a significant impact on the luxury electric SUV market. The August unveiling in New York promises to be a momentous occasion for both Cadillac enthusiasts and the broader electric vehicle community.
