Although it may have gone unnoticed, the Ford Mustang Bullitt bid farewell for good at the end of 2020, concluding its production at the Flat Rock American factory, according to the brand’s spokesperson, Berj Alexanian.
The total number of units manufactured has not been disclosed, but it is undoubtedly significant considering how special the Bullitt has been. Let’s not forget that the Mustang remains the world’s best-selling sports car.
The Ford Mustang Bullitt was available in the SN95 and S197 generations of the past, and it returned to the S550 with distinctive features such as the absence of Ford logos, Highland Green color, or the white ball-shaped gear lever. In this case, a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine was used, which reached 475 hp in the U.S. market and remained at 464 hp in Europe. The six-speed manual gearbox is another distinctive feature of this model.
According to official sources, the void left at the Flat Rock plant will not remain unoccupied for long. In its place will be the Ford Mustang Mach 1, another variant that revives a historic name and positions itself above the GT with its 460 hp.
