About 19 years after the launch of the V Series, the upcoming Cadillac Escalade V is the first SUV from the brand to receive the V Series treatment.

While we know that the Escalade V will have a V8 engine, details about the powerplant have not been revealed yet. It is widely expected that the Escalade V will feature the same supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine found in the CT5-V Blackwing.

In the sedan, the supercharged V8 is tuned to deliver 498kW and 880Nm, sending power to all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.

If true, this will be a significant leap forward in performance from the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 with 313kW currently found in the Escalade lineup.

What sets the Escalade V apart from the lesser models is a largely chrome-free exterior.

The V’s large grille is fitted with a black mesh insert, and the front bumper is a unique piece with a larger lower intake and bolder frames for the driving lights.

Along the sides, the Escalade V features thicker black sills and lower friction strips. The doors are adorned with the largest V-Series badges to date, while monochromatic Cadillac badges appear to be an option.

There’s a new rear bumper with a pair of dual-tip exhaust outlets, a diffuser-style element, and additional black plastic accents. The spoiler on top of the rear tailgate seems to protrude a bit more than in normal Escalade variants.

The vehicle rides on 18-spoke alloy wheels with a metallic gray finish and the V logo on their spokes. Judging by the photos released, the Escalade V will sit a bit closer to the ground than the regular SUV.

Inside, we expect to see plenty of V-Series branding, carbon fiber finishing pieces, and hopefully, front seats with better grip.

The revised adaptive air suspension and Magnetic Ride Control dampers, as well as larger brakes, are likely part of the package.

Given the sporty focus of the Escalade V, it will probably be offered only with the short-wheelbase body.

More details about the Escalade V will be announced in the second quarter of 2022. Prices are likely to be above $100,000 USD ($140,000).
