BMW has unveiled new special edition versions of its large SUVs, each featuring sporty visual tweaks inside and out. The BMW X5 and X6 are offered as Black Vermillion Edition models, while the X7 comes in the Frozen Black Edition variant.
These special editions are exclusively styling exercises, with no mechanical alterations to the vehicles. Each model showcases specially chosen interior and exterior design details. Only 50 units of the X5 and X6 are available, and the X7 Frozen Black Edition is limited to just five cars.
The Black Vermilion Edition stands out with red accents on Frozen Black metallic paint. The kidney grille bars are finished in red and highlighted by LED lighting, and red brake calipers are tucked behind the exclusive 22-inch matte Orbit Grey wheels. The front and rear sills have also been modified.
Inside, there are piano black trims, Alcantara anthracite headlining, and “Black Vermilion Edition” text on the cup holder cover. Merino Black leather is standard, with woven red details on the seats and red edging on the carpet. Optional extras available on the standard X5 and X6, such as a Bowers & Wilkins stereo and a panoramic glass roof, can also be obtained with this special edition.
On the other hand, changes to the BMW X7 Frozen Black Edition are more subtle. As the name suggests, the car also features a Frozen Black metallic finish, with 22-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels, again finished in matte Orbit Grey. The Frozen Black Edition removes the red highlights of the Black Vermilion Edition, opting for glossy black brake calipers and exterior trims.
There are few interior details to mark it out. It includes an Alcantara anthracite headliner and BMW glass controls, but specific leather colors or trims for the limited-run vehicle have not been detailed. Like the Black Vermilion Edition X5 and X6, the X7 Frozen Black Edition can be equipped with the same equipment as the standard car, including massage seats, a panoramic sliding roof, and a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond sound system.
The X7 Frozen Black Edition is only available in the M50i version and can be ordered now, along with the X5 and X6 Black Vermilion Edition. The first deliveries are expected in September of this year.
