Nuevo record de conducción autónoma en China

The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) startup Xpeng has set new autonomous driving records in China after a six-day test drive. The goal was to demonstrate the performance of its partially autonomous system (NGP).

Specifically, the system covered the distance between the Chinese cities of Guangzhou and Beijing, just over 3,600 kilometers, with minimal human intervention. It required an average of 0.71 human interventions per 100 kilometers and is described as the longest autonomous driving expedition conducted by a mass-produced vehicle in China.

Dubbed “China’s most advanced series of automatic driving systems” by the company itself, it utilizes a total of 14 cameras, a 5-millimeter wave radar, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and a high-definition geographic positioning system.
