As outlined by the goals of the United Nations Paris Agreement on climate change and the path towards reducing carbon emissions by 2050, the Nissan brand announces that it will exclusively manufacture electric vehicles starting from the year 2030.

“We are determined to help create a carbon-neutral society and accelerate the global effort against climate change. Our offering of electric vehicles will continue to expand worldwide, and this will significantly contribute to Nissan becoming carbon neutral. We will continue to drive innovation that enhances people’s lives as we strive for a sustainable future for all,” stated Makoto Uchida, CEO of the Japanese company.

For some time now, Nissan has been innovating in all aspects related to electric mobility. In its latest development, solid-state batteries are being explored to achieve greater autonomy in plug-in vehicles. Another project still under evaluation involves the creation of a high-performance electric propulsion motor that fully utilizes Nissan’s e-POWER technology.
