Jeep is strengthening the identity of one of its most iconic models by bringing back the Trailhawk and Overland trims for the new 2027 Grand Cherokee. Both versions return with significant improvements in performance, technology, and equipment, offering two distinct choices for drivers seeking an SUV that excels both on and off the road.

Drivers interested in the latest off-road vehicles or looking to buy their next SUV can also browse a wide selection of new and used SUVs on Yacarros, featuring models for every budget and lifestyle.

Trailhawk delivers maximum off-road performance

The standout of the new lineup is the Trailhawk, engineered to provide the highest level of off-road capability in the Grand Cherokee family.

Under the hood, it features the new 2.0-liter Hurricane Turbo engine, producing 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to its advanced combustion technology, the engine delivers stronger low-end response, making it especially effective on challenging terrain.

The SUV also comes equipped with Jeep’s renowned Quadra-Trac II four-wheel-drive system, a two-speed transfer case, the Selec-Terrain traction management system with Rock mode, Quadra-Lift air suspension, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, and 30.5-inch Goodyear Territory All-Terrain tires.

Built to conquer the toughest terrain

The new Grand Cherokee Trailhawk proudly retains Jeep’s prestigious Trail Rated certification, proving it has successfully passed demanding tests for traction, maneuverability, articulation, water fording, and ground clearance.

Its impressive specifications include 11.4 inches of ground clearance, 36-degree approach angle, 24.4-degree breakover angle, and 30.3-degree departure angle, along with six steel skid plates that protect vital mechanical components.

Technology also plays a major role, with features such as the TrailCam off-road camera, Off-Road Pages displaying real-time vehicle data, and a maximum 6,200-pound towing capacity, one of the highest in its class.

The Trailhawk is visually distinguished by a redesigned front fascia for improved approach angles, red tow hooks, a matte anti-glare hood, 18-inch wheels, and a premium cabin featuring black Nappa leather seats with red stitching and a new 12.3-inch infotainment display.

Overland blends premium comfort with off-road capability

Alongside the Trailhawk, Jeep is also reintroducing the Overland trim, celebrating 25 years as part of the Grand Cherokee lineup while maintaining its reputation for combining luxury, refinement, and genuine off-road performance.

The exterior receives a more upscale appearance with a redesigned front end, 21-inch wheels, a body-colored roof, and exclusive styling elements that reinforce its premium character.

Inside, passengers are welcomed by Nappa leather seats embossed with the Overland logo, climate-controlled front seats, heated second-row seating, and exclusive interior trim finishes that elevate overall comfort.

Advanced technology for every driving adventure

Although designed with luxury in mind, the Grand Cherokee Overland remains highly capable away from paved roads. It features the Quadra-Trac II four-wheel-drive system, Quadra-Lift air suspension, hill descent control, semi-active damping, a 360-degree camera, and the comprehensive Off-Road Pages system.

With the return of the Trailhawk and Overland trims, Jeep further strengthens the 2027 Grand Cherokee, reinforcing its status as one of the benchmark 4×4 SUVs on the market. Whether tackling demanding trails or providing premium comfort for everyday driving, the Grand Cherokee continues to deliver the versatility, technology, and capability that have defined the model for decades.
