Nissan continued its impressive momentum in the U.S. automotive market after reporting strong results for the second quarter of 2026. The Japanese automaker sold 242,741 vehicles, representing a 9.6% year-over-year increase and extending its sustained growth streak that has now lasted well over a year.

The company’s performance was fueled by strong demand for its SUVs, pickup trucks, and sedans, as consumers continue to respond positively to Nissan’s combination of quality, advanced technology, and competitive pricing.

For buyers interested in used Nissan SUVs and pickup trucks, platforms such as <a href=”http://yacarros.com” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>used car marketplace</a> offer a wide selection of vehicles, making it easier to compare models and find the right option at competitive prices.

The Nissan X-Trail Continues to Lead the Brand’s Success

The Nissan X-Trail, marketed in the United States as the Nissan Rogue, remained the company’s best-selling model during the quarter.

The compact SUV continues to enjoy strong customer demand and recently earned recognition as the Highest Ranked Compact SUV in Initial Quality in the J.D. Power 2026 U.S. Initial Quality Study, reinforcing its reputation for reliability and build quality.

Nissan expects to strengthen the model’s appeal even further with the upcoming launch of the Nissan X-Trail e-POWER, an electrified version featuring the brand’s innovative hybrid technology. The new model is expected to play a key role in one of the fastest-growing segments of the automotive market.

Pickup Trucks and Sedans Also Deliver Strong Results

Nissan’s success extended beyond the SUV segment.

The Nissan Frontier posted an impressive 36.8% increase in retail sales during the second quarter, reflecting growing consumer demand for pickup trucks that combine durability, capability, and modern technology.

Meanwhile, the Nissan Sentra recorded a 33.3% increase in sales, further strengthening its position in the highly competitive compact sedan segment.

The Nissan Armada also delivered solid performance, with sales rising 27% compared with the same quarter last year.

In addition, the Nissan Pathfinder achieved the best second-quarter sales performance in its history, while the Nissan Kicks reached a new sales record in June, highlighting the continued popularity of Nissan’s expanding SUV lineup.

INFINITI Strengthens Its Position in the Premium Market

Nissan’s luxury division, INFINITI, also contributed to the group’s overall performance during the quarter.

The premium brand sold 12,298 vehicles, maintaining sales at levels similar to those recorded a year earlier.

The flagship INFINITI QX80 achieved its strongest second quarter ever, while the launch of the all-new INFINITI QX65 exceeded the company’s initial expectations and provided additional momentum in the luxury SUV segment.

Electrification Will Drive Nissan’s Next Phase of Growth

The latest sales figures demonstrate the effectiveness of Nissan’s strategy of expanding its lineup with vehicles that combine high quality, advanced technology, and increasingly efficient electrified powertrains.

The arrival of the Nissan X-Trail e-POWER is expected to become one of the company’s most significant product launches during the second half of 2026. Equipped with Nissan’s proprietary e-POWER technology, the model is designed to meet growing consumer demand for electrified vehicles without compromising driving performance.

With 16 consecutive months of retail sales growth in the United States, Nissan enters the remainder of 2026 in a strong position. Backed by a competitive lineup of SUVs, pickup trucks, and passenger cars, along with its ongoing commitment to electrification, the automaker appears well positioned to continue expanding its presence in one of the world’s largest automotive markets.
